This rose was lost in commerce but has since been introduced by Peter Beales in 1990. It is a wonderful sport of 'New Dawn' exact in every way save for twice the number of petals. The pale pink blooms are large and show off nicely against the glossy, leathery leaves.

The found rose, "Bailey Red" comes to us from Holly Springs, North Carolina via the Heritage Rose Foundation president, Charles Walker. The clusters of single red flowers are set off by the yellow stamens of this six-foot plant. It is thought to be a relatively modern Floribunda or Hybrid Tea, but it has proven to be a very rewarding garden plant regardless of its class.

One of the best roses for hedging, ‘Ballerina’ produces clouds of small, single, pink roses with white eyes on a compact arching bush with thick foliage. It can be pruned to shape or allowed to spill over naturally. When the leaves begin to thin in the late fall, the entire bush is lit up with tiny orange-red hips like bright Christmas lights. If grown as a climber, this rose will reach 6 to 10 feet.

Alleged to be a cross between 'Gloire de Dijon' and 'Madame Lombard' this rose displays obvious characteristics of both.  The very full, almost quartered, scented flowers open from long buds to show a light pink interior with a carmine-pink reverse.   This large, well-shaped shrub is vigorous and free flowering.  It is an excellent choice for cut flowers.</p> </body></html>

Large, flat, and very double blossoms of a rich soft pink are highly fragrant. ‘Baronne Prévost’ blooms fairly often during the growing season on a chunky, erect shrub. It is one of the most rewarding Hybrid Perpetuals in the garden, resembling the famous ‘Paul Neyron’, but has a slightly smaller flower and is more remontant.

The erect habit, rounded leaves, and thornless stems of 'Basye's Blueberry' make it look quite similar to a blueberry bush, especially when the leaves begin to take on their fall color. Bright pink, semi-double fragrant flowers with bright yellow stamens add to the appeal. This plant represents one of the stepping stones toward Dr. Robert Basye’s goal of thornless, disease-free roses.

'Basyes Purple Rose' blooms throughout the growing season with large, single flowers of velvety purple graced by gold stamens- a truly royal rose. A cross between R. rugosa and R. foliolosa,' Basye's Purple Rose' makes a thick, erect bush with prickly canes and rough foliage.

This interesting, semi-double rose varies somewhat in shape and color from flower to flower. The fragrance of 'Beaute Inconstante' is remarkable and petals of coppery red and orange, shaded with yellow and carmine, show up in different combinations in each bloom. An entertaining and attractive shrub to grow, inconstant, perhaps, but definitely a beauty.

When ‘Belinda’ is in bloom, it is difficult to look at anything else. The large clusters of hot pink flowers have a white eye in each small blossom, but the effect from a distance is pink all over. We find it makes a stunning climber and is also excellent for hedging. Like most of the Hybrid Musks ‘Belinda’ tolerates areas of partial shade quite well. If grown as a climber, it will reach 6 to 10 feet.

'Belinda's Blush' is a color sport of one of our favorite roses, 'Belinda's Dream'. Similar in size and growth habit, this rose offers fragrant, full blooms of a light, creamy pink that are excellent for cutting. Canes free of thorns are always appreciated.

Almost naturalized in California, but not hardy in the north, ‘Belle Portugaise’ is also known as ‘Belle of Portugal’. This extremely vigorous, large-flowered climber blooms for a long season each spring and can tolerate heat and limey soil. The very long buds open to large, loose, semi-double flowers with shell pink petals. Big, pendulous roses hang down as if to spill their intoxicating fragrance on the faces of passing admirers. If the buds do not get frost-nipped, the spring display is absolutely delicious. Give this climber plenty of room to spread.

We are very fond of this rose and it has become one of our many favorites. Single roses blooming in sprays of three distinct colors ranging from soft apple-pink to a dusty rose to decorate this open bush that can reach five feet or more. This leads many to think it may be a seedling of 'Mutabilis'. We can easily overlook "Bermuda's Kathleen's" lack of fragrance because of its continual bloom and delicate, yet healthy foliage.

This seedling of ‘Kirsten Poulsen’ displays bright, bi-colored pink single roses which are produced in large clusters. This rose bush is extremely popular in the North due to its cold hardiness and prolific blooming habit. We like its upright and bushy growth. When it is in bloom, which is frequent for us, it is a real eye-catcher. Mass plantings of ‘Kirsten Poulsen’ and ‘Betty Prior’ are breathtaking.

Finally, a Hybrid Tea like rose with a wonderful shrub to five feet. The extremely fragrant flowers have blooms that are two tones of pink. It is an excellent cut flower due to its large size and fragrance. 'Beverly'™ is a must for any garden - a real beauty!

'Birthday Cake' will add a celebratory spirit to any garden.  The eye-catching, upright shrub produces yellow and pink bi-colored roses that contain a mild musk scent.  Its compact size begs use in a large container or massed at borders edge.

"Bleeds Maroon" is a compact yet open shrub that grows 3 to 4 feet. The rose-red single to semi-double blooms has random streaks of white, pink, and rose. This bold rose will add drama to any garden.

'Bliss' is another great rose bred by Kordes.  The double-cupped, fruity-scented blooms are a lovely creamy pink with an apricot center.  The nicely shaped shrub will be compact to four feet and has proved itself to be cold tolerant and disease resistant. 'Bliss' can be used either as a small border planting or in containers.

One of the first remontant climbers to be bred from ‘New Dawn’ and still one of the best! Clusters of very shapely buds open to double blossoms of soft pink with a darker pink reverse. This is a wonderful rose to use anywhere a colorful short climber or pillar rose with a nice fragrance is needed. It is also known to be mildew resistant.

Plant a bit of Texas.

The ideal planting time for Bluebonnets is summer to fall as the hard seed coat needs that time and weather exposure to break down.  Incorporate seed into prepared beds or bare areas excavated in a field.  Seed will germinate by late fall and winter with blooms to follow in the spring.  Bluebonnets will naturalize from subsequent seed for years to come.

 Plant one ounce (approx 1000 seeds) into a 100 X 200 square foot area making sure the seed has good soil contact.
