Rose Naming
Ever dreamt of having a rose named for someone dear or a cherished occasion? At the Antique Rose Emporium, we’re delighted to make that dream a reality, creating a beautiful and lasting tribute for generations to enjoy.
The Process is Simple & Heartfelt:
Choose the Perfect Rose: Only roses that have shown superior qualities—such as vibrant color, captivating fragrance, robust health, and elegant form—are offered for naming. Each available rose has undergone rigorous testing for beauty and resilience, ensuring that your dedicated rose represents the finest quality and longevity.
Forever Named in History: Once you’ve selected the rose, we’ll officially register it under your chosen name with the IRAR through the ARS Modern Roses Database. It will also be featured on Help Me Find Rose for rose enthusiasts around the world to appreciate.
Commemorative Certificate: A personalized certificate will be provided with your unique rose name and its place in rose history.
Your Own Roses: Alongside this incredible naming experience, you’ll receive the first 10 plants of your named rose, packaged and shipped to you for the world’s first planting, along with custom garden tags—an unforgettable experience to begin the life of your new rose. Additional plants and tags are available for purchase at $30 each, plus shipping.

Pricing Options:
Antique Rose Emporium offers a limited number of rose-naming opportunities each year. Prices are not based on a rose’s general superiority but rather on the unique traits that make it truly one-of-a-kind. Characteristics such as rare colors, intense fragrance, and distinctive growth forms require careful breeding and are priced accordingly to reflect their rarity.
Non-Patented Rose Naming: Non-patented roses start at $5,000 and may increase depending on the rose’s specific attributes and breeding complexity. This package includes registration, a personalized certificate, and 10 plants with customized plant tags.
Patented Rose Naming: For the utmost exclusivity, patented rose commissions begin at $7,500 and can exceed $15,000 for varieties with particularly rare or challenging traits. With this option, Antique Rose Emporium retains reproduction rights to protect your rose’s distinctiveness. You’ll receive registration, a certificate, and 10 plants, each representing a unique tribute that’s yours alone.

Additional Fine Print…
Quality Standards Requirement
Antique Rose Emporium maintains rigorous production and quality standards for all rose varieties. Should your named rose fail to meet these standards due to factors such as diminished bloom quality, disease resistance, or other significant horticultural concerns, Antique Rose Emporium reserves the right to discontinue production. In such cases, the rose will remain listed in our catalog for historical purposes, and we will provide a formal notification regarding production changes.
Demand-Based Production Adjustment
Production of each named rose is contingent on reasonable demand. Should demand for your named rose fall below a sustainable level (defined as fewer than 50 orders annually), Antique Rose Emporium reserves the right to limit or discontinue production. Antique Rose Emporium will communicate this decision to you and offer the option to place a limited order if you wish to acquire additional plants before production ceases.
Grace Period & Notification
In the event of either production discontinuation or demand-based adjustments, Antique Rose Emporium will notify you at least six months prior to any changes. During this period, we will honor any remaining orders and provide an option for a final order batch if desired.
Legacy Status for Named Roses
Should production cease, your rose’s name and registration will be preserved for historical reference in our catalog, and the rose’s legacy will remain intact. Additionally, any existing plants and remaining inventory of your named rose may continue to be available on a limited basis, subject to plant health and stock.
