Kordes produced ‘Alchymist’ by crossing a R. eglanteria hybrid with the large-flowered climber, ‘Golden Glow’. 'Basyes Purple Rose' blooms throughout the growing season with large, single flowers of velvety purple graced by gold stamens- a truly royal rose. A cross between R. rugosa and R. foliolosa,' Basye's Purple Rose' makes a thick, erect bush with prickly canes and rough foliage.

Gifted with many names because of its continued popularity ("Russells Cottage", "Scarlet Grevillea", "Old Spanish Rose", "Souvenir de la Bataille de Marengo") this hybrid of R. multiflora is in a class by itself. The very double, medium-size flowers of crimson mauve fading to lilac cover the bush in color each Spring. The scent is Damask, and the foliage is quite distinct- large, rich blue-green, deeply veined, and unmistakable. 'Russelliana' has been grown as a shrub, a climber, and as a pillar rose.

'Deanna Krause' forms an open, spreading four-foot shrub. The variegated roses of dark and light pink and white occur heavily in spring and fall. This rose produces an abundant crop of hips if not dead-headed. This Ray Ponton seedling is a cross of ‘Carefree Beauty.

With an average bloom size of 1.5” cupped single flowers, this rose bursts with a huge variability of contrasting colors! Dark pink centers distinctly gleam against a very light pink middle petal, with a light flush of pink at the petal tips. Blooming in flushes through the season, blooms can fade to almost white in hot weather. With little to no fragrance, this rose is not a producer of hips, but it’s compact 2x3’ sized plant does tout nearly thornless stems with clean medium-green foliage. It has shown to be disease resistant and best in zones 5-11.
