A personal favorite of our staff, this delightful rose displays large, single blooms of soft silvery pink.  The three to four feet tall bush has an open growth habit.  The ruffled edges of the petals are the perfect foil to the dark maroon stamens in the flower center making it strikingly distinctive.  Leathery foliage and a delicate fragrance add to its appeal.  'Dainty Bess' is a must for collectors of single roses.

2x3 feet    Z5-11 R pb

Perfect for container planting and landscape bordering, what this small beauty lacks in size, it makes up for with it’s bold and unique colorations! With an average bloom size of 1.5” cupped single flowers, this rose bursts with a huge variability of contrasting colors! Dark pink centers distinctly gleam against a very light pink middle petal, with a light flush of pink at the petal tips. Blooming in flushes through the season, blooms can fade to almost white in hot weather. With little to no fragrance, this rose is not a producer of hips, but it’s compact 2x3’ sized plant does tout nearly thornless stems with clean medium-green foliage. It has shown to be disease resistant and best in zones 5-11.

Old fashioned red fragrant flowers are very full, prolific in number, and repeating spring thru fall. The deep red color is softened with companions of pink and white flowers or for a hot contrast mixed with yellow and orange flowering perennials and annuals. Rose shows great tolerance to disease and is cold-hardy into zone 5.

Bright scarlet, neat single flowers open flat to decorate a bushy shrub whose neat foliage has a dark red tinge. This is a handsome plant, and due to its size serves as an excellent choice for a low hedge or border. Our original cuttings come from a Navasota gardener, Martha Gonzales, whose display of ‘Mrs. Dudley Cross’, ‘Old Blush’ and this rose could be seen from blocks away. ‘Martha Gonzales’ has become very popular with area landscapers for mass plantings and large drifts.

This rose was named in honor of  the Texas Rose Rustler and rose breeder, Ray Ponton.  One inch, clustered,  mauve flowers smother the bush when it is in bloom.  Given the diminutive size of this very floriferous rose, planting in mass along walkways or in containers would be ideal.

The mass planting of 'Rise-N-Shine' at Blue Bell Creameries tourist center, here in Brenham, is beautiful. Because of this show, we are inundated with requests for this rose. The small, bright yellow flowers are semi double and fade to white with age. The compact bush has very healthy foliage and we know of no disease problem. This rose is well suited for container growing, bordering, or hedging.

A very dwarf shrub with a continuous display of small, but nicely shaped, double, lilac-pink flowers less than 1/2 inch across. One of the varieties of R. chinensis minima, 'Rouletii' was discovered rather far from its native ground, growing in window pots of cottages in a Swiss village. This diminutive plant is excellent as a low border, and an obvious natural for containers.

This is the darkest purple rose we grow! That being said, with this wonderful novelty color, it requires a little extra care when it comes to blackspot. However, it’s worth it, once you smell the exotic and powerfully fragrant blooms of citrus and clove.
