"Bleeds Maroon" is a compact yet open shrub that grows 3 to 4 feet. The rose-red single to semi-double blooms has random streaks of white, pink, and rose. As the rose ages, the rose-red coloration darkens to maroon. The petals of this eye-catching rose lie flat to expose the crown of golden stamens in the center. This bold rose will add drama to any garden.

As fragrant as 'Champneys Pink Cluster', this first rose to bear the Noisette name is charming in its own right. The blush white flowers are cupped and double, appearing frequently throughout the growing season but especially in great abundance in the fall. William Paul, the 19th-century nurseryman reported, "I have seen these roses blooming unchecked amid the early storms of winter." 'Blush Noisette' is one of the few Noisettes which maintains a nice bush form while displaying blousy flowers for which Noisettes are known. This rose is ideally suited as a free-standing specimen or as a pillar rose.

Bolero is a must have rose, perfect for gardens of any size! Bolero produces beautiful, full, white double flowers with a tinge of pink. The flowers contrast wonderfully against the glossy dark green foliage. Bolero is a reliable repeat bloomer, with a fragrance reminiscent of sweet citrus and floral notes. This rose is slower to grow but it’s relatively disease resistant and has a fairly compact growth habit.

If you are looking for a darker accent color for your garden, perhaps ‘Bon Silene’ is the rose for you. Loose, double flowers of a deep rose pink unfurl from the classic long-pointed buds. The broad, multi-branched bush provides sweetly scented blooms throughout the season.

'Brazos Belle' is a very showy shrub to five feet with double orange/pink flowers that repeat throughout the season.  This rose is ideally planted as a border specimen.  

This is a Pioneer rose bred by Mike Shoup honoring the historic area of the Brazos Valley where the land grant university of Texas A&M is located.

Thought to be a cross between R. rugosa and some form of R. chinensis, 'Calocarpa' blooms with large single-petaled, fragrant flowers of a rich rose pink. This is a good choice for a tall hedge in the six to eight-foot range. An abundant crop of showy, pendulous hips will decorate the bush in fall and winter.

We discovered our favorite found rose "Katy Road Pink" was in fact 'Carefree Beauty.' Forming an open, but extremely graceful bush, 'Carefree Beauty' appears to have few insect or disease problems and is not particular about soil or growing conditions. It is free blooming, probably one of the most floriferous pink roses that we grow, with new buds appearing all the time. Large hips are a nice treat!

After being lost to commerce for many years, this earliest Noisette was re-identified from a plant sent to the Huntington Botanical Gardens of California in the early 1970s. The clusters of small, light pink, double flowers of 'Champney's Pink Clusters' carry one of the sweetest perfumes in the rose world. Our plant puts up vigorous shoots with narrow, graceful leaves that are occasionally susceptible to blackspot. It makes a handsome, rather mounding shrub, or it can be displayed on a pillar, fence, or trellis. Any garden would be enriched by the beauty, scent, and history of this rare old Southern antique.

Also known as the ‘Chinquapin Rose’ and ‘Burr Rose’, this very double, garden form of R. roxburghii was introduced before the wild, single form because the interior of China was inaccessible to Europeans in the early 1800s. William Roxburgh, an assistant surgeon to the East India Co., came across this rose in a garden in Canton, China, where it had been grown for generations as ‘Hoi-tong-hong’. He sent it to the Calcutta Botanic Garden. From there it reached England in 1820 and quickly traveled on to America. We find it lingering in many old Southern gardens. The ‘Chestnut Rose’ is unique in many ways. The pink, lightly fragrant flowers open from mossy-looking buds irregularly throughout the growing season and are followed by bristly, globular hips that resemble chestnut burrs. The odd, pale brown bark of the branches, combined with leaves divided into many small leaflets (as many as 15), makes this rose a fascinating specimen plant, especially if allowed to reach its mature size.

'Coles Settlement' is a large six-foot shrub that exhibits single white flowers that can reach four inches across in cool weather. Flowers are followed by large orange hips in the fall. This is a wonderful rose to plant where you can enjoy its reflective flowers at dusk or on moonlit evenings. Coles Settlement was one of the earliest communities in Independence, TX. (circa 1820).

This beautiful rose is the evident result of Mons. Lacharme’s attempt to breed a pure white rose. He didn’t quite succeed with 'Coquette des Blanches', but he did achieve near perfection. The form of the flower is at once both cupped and flat. Flat, referring to the line that can be drawn across the surface of the bloom, and cupped, being the description of the overall bloom shape. While not completely white, the overall effect in the garden is of a white rose. Yet for many, it is the pink tones of the inner petals on a newly opening bloom that give this rose its greatest beauty. The shrub itself is hardy and vigorous with slender canes that suggest the rose can be grown as a pillar or a pegged rose.

This fine old rose has velvety, rich crimson flowers with a silvery reverse and a deliciously fruity fragrance. The double, cupped form of the blossoms is distinctive, keeping with the rounded shape even when fully open. Like all true Chinas, it is very nearly everblooming in a warm climate. The leaves are small, neatly shaped, dark green, and very healthy. The plant has an upright habit and, if left unpruned, will slowly grow to over five feet tall and equally wide. 'Cramoisi Superieur' or 'Agrippina', as it is sometimes still called, is one of the old roses that can often be found in country gardens of Texas and the South. It is a valuable and beautiful landscape plant that provides almost continuous color.

'Crawfish Étouffée’ is a special rose that resulted from hybridizing two award-winning and fragrant parents, the Meilland rose ‘Dee-Lish’ and the David Austin rose ‘Lady of Shallot’. The inspiration for the name came from our breeder Andrew, as he is from Southern Louisiana. The color is a unique red with hints of russet orange and resembles boiled crawfish in appearance. The fragrance is fittingly floral and spicy, and the foliage is reminiscent of bay leaves, which are an essential ingredient in Cajun cuisines. Combined together, the overall effect will take your senses to the New Orleans French Quarter, where sounds of traditional Jazz music and smells of good cookin’ fill the air.

The growth habit of 'Crawfish Étouffée' strongly resembles ‘Lady of Shallot’ with loose, informal, and graceful architecture when fully established. If we consider the parentage of ‘Crawfish Étouffée’, ‘Dee-Lish’ is cold hardy to zone 5a, and ‘Lady of Shallot’ has been reported to be cold hardy to zone 4 in Finland. Therefore, we assume that ‘Crawfish Étouffée’ will be cold hardy to at least zone 5. ‘Crawfish Étouffée’ blooms from Spring until frost throughout the season and possesses the disease resistance of its parent ‘Dee-Lish’.

Smoothly arching dark canes, neat green leaves, and dark yellow buds that open in creamy clusters give 'Danae' a sophisticated appearance. Its graceful habit is at home whether in an informal hedge, trained neatly through a fence, or trailing its tips on a formal goldfish pond. Orange-red hips in the fall contrast nicely with the last flowers. This is an elegant plant. If grown as a climber, this rose will reach 8 to 10 feet.

'Deanna Krause' forms an open, spreading four-foot shrub. The variegated roses of dark and light pink and white occur heavily in spring and fall. This rose produces an abundant crop of hips if not dead-headed. This Ray Ponton seedling is a cross of ‘Carefree Beauty.

'Dee-Lish' aside from being a specimen garden rose it is also an excellent cutting rose.  The six foot, upright shrub is also know to have good disease resistance. The strongly scented, deep pink/fuchsia colored cupped blooms are award winning.

After meeting strict color and fragrance guidelines, this rose was selected and named by the international Delta Gamma Fraternity. This enchanting rose has large flowers in blushed tones of cream, yellow, and apricot that contain an exquisite fragrance. It bears clean foliage and produces excellent cut flowers.

This Pioneer rose, 'Diane Grace', shows all the great garden qualities of disease resistance, fragrance, and vigor on a large, thick shrub to six feet. Three-inch yellow flowers are produced year-round. Slightly curled, dark green leaves create unusual texture. Breeding lines of this rose include ‘Graham Thomas’, ‘Mrs. Oakley Fisher’ and ‘Carefree Beauty’.

We are led to ask the question, "Bush, why dost bear a rose? If none must have it, Why dost expose it, yet claw those that crave?" (John Bunyan, c. 1684) 'Dr. Eckener' is loaded with prickles and would make an excellent subject for a barrier hedge. The strongly scented flowers are large, slightly cupped, and bloom in shades of copper and yellow which age to soft pink .

Our stock plant of 'Dr. Grill' came from Peter Beales of England, who describes it as a branching, angular plant a little short on foliage, but whose flowers are "exquisite, pink overlaid with copper. High centered in bud but opening flat and full, sometimes quartered."

Teddy Roosevelt made 'Duchesse de Brabant' his favorite, often wearing a bud or flower as a boutonniere. It is very nearly our greatest favorite, too. The cupped pink flowers have a cabbagey roundness to them, as if they were picked from a luscious old rose painting.
