6 to 8 feet or 8 to 12 feet as a climber  Z5-11  R  Fr w

Sally Holmes rose features large, single, creamy-white flowers with a yellow center. The flowers are lightly fragrant and typically produced in clusters creating a stunning display against the dark green foliage.

One of the notable characteristics of Sally Holmes Rose is its vigorous growth habit. It is a fairly large shrub that can also be trained as a climber. This makes it an excellent choice for creating a focal point or a hedge in a garden. It is also known for its disease resistance, making it a low-maintenance option for gardeners.

Sally Holmes rose is known to bloom throughout the growing season, from late spring to fall, and its flowers are attractive to pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

With its beautiful flowers, easy care, and reliable performance, Sally Holmes rose is a favorite among rose enthusiasts and is often used in gardens, landscapes, and cut flower arrangements.

"Soncy" is a found rose that reminds us greatly of our tea rose, 'Perle des Jardins'. It has the same nice tea fragrance, size, and flowers of pale yellow to ivory. It differs in that it rarely produces thorns on its stems; most of its prickles are under the leaves and are of little concern. The flowers rarely ball in our humidity, unlike 'Perle des Jardins', and make a nice display throughout the growing season.

Mike Shoup claims this rose is the best of the "Pioneer Series" of roses introduced by the Antique Rose Emporium. It is truly exceptional! The fragrant, quartered blooms of peachy apricot appear in late spring and are followed by a strong fall repeat. The foliage is clean.

Architecturally beautiful at all times of the year, the 'Swamp Rose' has graceful, arching, and nearly thornless branches with narrow, willow-like leaves. This is a native American rose, growing across the South and East in moist, swampy ground. Its ability to grow in poorly drained soil as well as in normal garden conditions make it an anomaly among roses, but very versatile in the landscape. No plant could be more beautiful weeping into a stream or reflecting pond. The flowers appear in late spring, after most species have finished blooming. They are vivid pink, double, and very showy. Redout painted this rose in the garden of Empress Josephine of France.

Sweet Frances', lovely apricot rose, was named for Frances Hobbs by our customer, Rebecca Franks who won our rose naming contest. She chose to name for her lovely mother who lives in DeRidder, LA. The two to three-inch flowers repeat from spring to fall. The six-foot upright shrub is very disease resistant most likely due to its bloodlines of ‘Heritage’, ‘Mrs. Oakley Fisher’ and ‘Carefree Beauty’.

Although 'Therese Bugnet' in not typical of the class because of its darker leaves and more upright form, this is indeed an extremely hardy rose. With its clear, double, rose red flowers that pale to pink, this fragrant rose is perfect for a large hedge. Its reddish stems are a nice winter accent.

'Thomas Affleck' was bred at our nursery and named in honor of a notable 19th century nurseryman who had a nursery just a few miles from ours. The intensely cerise pink, semi-double blooms make a bold statement in the garden. It is a wonderful specimen for a mixed planting or large container and is useful near a walkway where its fragrance and thornless nature can be appreciated.

The Tuesday McMains rose is one of our Pioneer Trailblazer roses. This stunning shrub rose shows a profusion of delicate apricot semi-double blooms, making it a great choice for pollinators. It beautifully blends the characteristics of its parents. It shows the prolific, repeat blooming habit of Winter Sun and the extraordinary fragrance of Jean Teressa.

This rose has a sweet yet light fragrance reminiscent of gardenia and jasmine. In addition to the beautiful blooms and pleasant fragrance, this rose also sets bountiful hips. Despite its delicate appearance, the Tuesday McMains rose is a shockingly low-maintenance rose that is exceptionally disease-resistant and boasts fewer thorns than the average rose.

‘Valentine’s’ long pointed buds open to velvety, semi-double flowers of rich scarlet that can be 3 or 4 inches across on a mature plant. The nearly thornless bush is slightly open. The foliage is very full and rich and is rarely affected by heat, humidity, insects, or disease. This is a rose grown for show and will attract considerable attention. ‘Valentine’ is one of our most popular red roses.

Often called "The Blue Rose", this vigorous, nearly thornless rambler has small crimson or purple blossoms that fade to a grey-blue color. Although literature indicates a tendency to re-bloom, we have not witnessed this occurrence. Seen up close, there are streaks of white in each flower and the gold stamens are brightly displayed. Fragrance is excellent.

Beautiful, high-centered, cerise-pink flowers with an overwhelming Bourbon fragrance makes 'Zephirine Drouhin' a knockout in spring and fall. The canes are nearly thornless and the dark green foliage is thick and very healthy, displaying coppery purple new growth making a vivid contrast with the pink blossoms. A perfect rose to train up a porch column where you will pass it often, or for use where children may be playing. Although this climber has been promoted as a shade grower and bloomer, we can not support that statement.
